I think this means we have lost the ability to search for a product and buy from a lesser company. Recently I had to be some trace heating equipment and was shocked when I suddenly realise that no “big” brands that I’d heard of in the past manufactured it. That meant I had to look around at all these companies I’d never heard of and work out which was the best.

In the end I took the plunge and have been very happy with my purchase. I’m sure most of the companies I looked at could have done the job, but you really have to be careful ordering products from companies you’ve never heard of. Especially if they are such a small company that it’s difficult to find any online reviews or even people talking about the brand. This is often the case with companies that mainly sell to the industry rather than directly to consumers – so not having many reviews on the internet does not automatically mean that a company isn’t trustworthy (I made the mistake of thinking this in the past to my own detriment).

• The watch is the latest in a long generation of Submariner timepieces, and, although it’s not a shock release, there are a few differences that people didn’t expect.
• The main surprise is that the watch comes with a green dial as standard. I think this looks great, although you can obviously opt for a different choice if you prefer. The people at ABlogToRead seem to think this choice is to signify that the release of a new Submariner is no ordinary occasion, but something to be celebrated.
• Submariner 2010 comes with the Glide Lock clasp that allows you to fit it perfectly. It also means you can adjust it for when you want it looser.
• The watch contains the 3135 automatic movement, which is, of course, chronometer certified.
• The case of the watch is around 40mm in diameter, and it comes with a unidirectional bezel. The hour marks are luminescent.

What do you think of the new Submariner? Compared to other Submariner watches, such as the ones you can see at Vintage Watch Brands, I don’t think there is a HUGE difference. There certainly isn’t enough of a change to warrant upgrading if you already have one. Even so, it would definitely be my watch of choice if I was to buy one and I had unlimited funds! For now, I’ll have to settle for my very attractive, but not quite as special, Tag Heuer.

Even so, I still think it’s time that The Simpsons calls it a day. The episodes are still funny, but it’s been on a downward trend for some time now. It would be a shame to keep going until it eventually became a joke itself. The show has been brilliant at poking fun at people along the way, but the jokes have become progressively less funny.

If they don’t want to stop the show, then perhaps they should think about its direction and give it a bit of a makeover. I’m not talking about going 3D or anything, but a shake up (perhaps in the writing department) could make a difference. You can tell the show is in a bit of trouble when it seems to rely on guest stars to sell itself rather than just hte quality of the episodes.

The same can be said for Scrubs, which seems to have become a pure money making scheme, without most of the original cast.

Burger King

Every now and again I enjoy eating a Burger King, but the quality just doesn’t seem to be the same as McDonalds. The burgers are nice, but taste a lot more artificial. The chips are very plain and don’t have a lot of flavour, and this is one area where BK is definitely let down. The sauces also don’t tend to be as nice, which is a problem considering the chips aren’t that great in the first place.

Subway

Subway serves different kinds of food to the other to, but is still classified as a fast food restaurant. I like how you can choose different options and the type of bread, but the choices are actually fairly limited – mainly because many of the toppings are almost inedible. The meatball mariner sub, however, is one of my favourites. I also always seem to spend more money when I go to a Subway than one of the other two, so it certainly isn’t my favourite. There are so many Subways around these days that it can be difficult to avoid them though!

McDonalds

McDonalds provide a good mix of cheap food that’s nice to eat. They also have a large selection of different foods available, and the chips are great. The sauces also seem to be a lot nicer than those from Burger King.

So what are your favourite fast food places? Do you go there regularly? I probably have 2 or 3 McDonalds a month, but I try to keep it to a minimum. The fact that there’s one of their restaurants just down the road from me probably doesn’t help!

Firstly, I enjoyed the complex plot and the way you had to really concentrate to understand what’s going on. It’s definitely not a film you could watch to relax, but for one that gets your mind going its perfect. I’m not a big fan of mindless films, so in that respect it was very enjoyable.

The stunts and special effects were also brilliant. There wasn’t a time where I thought “that looks fake”, even when everything in a dream was going crazy. Special effects are generally very good these days so that’s what you’d expect from a big budget film, but in this case it works especially well.

The ending was a letdown though. If you haven’t seen it already, DON’T read any further……!

The spinner should of fallen or stayed up without wobbling, leaving it like that just cheated the viewer of knowing what happened. It’s not a stroke of genius and it’s definitely not a sign of a “classic” film, it’s just annoying. I suspect that it is in some way leaving the door open for a sequel, but it never should have been left like that.

Also, there were inconsistencies in the dreams. Maybe I just don’t understand, but at the end when the van lurched in the second dream, causing gravity to change in the third, why was there no effect in the fourth? That’s one of the major problems with the film – the script writers basically gave themselves free reign to write whatever they wanted, as the “rules” of dreams weren’t explained well enough to be understood fully. Maybe it’s just me, but I wanted a bit more detail on how the dreams worked and why they worked the way they did.

It’s not a bad film, in fact I really enjoyed it. I just don’t think it lived up to the huge hype that surrounded it, and definitely shouldn’t be called one of the great films of all time.
